BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982 shown off in lengthy hands-on video

Following its recent pit stop at the FCC, the unannounced BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982 has now appeared in a near-6 minute hands-on video that offers a much better look at the luxury handset.

Posted by Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn, the clip offers a detailed walkthrough of the P'9982 hardware, showing off its headphone jack and power button up top, volume buttons on the side and leather-clad rear cover with the BlackBerry logo stamped into it. That cover is eventually removed to show the same LS1 battery that powers the BlackBerry Z10, the handset that the P'9982 is based on.

The video also shows off a bit of the software on the BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982, which looks to be a regular build of BlackBerry 10. That's one difference between it and the Porsche Design P'9981, which was released in late 2011 with a specially-themed version of BlackBerry 7.

The BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9982 is a luxury smartphone that appears to be sporting a stainless steel frame and leather rear cover. Specs for the device are still up in the air, but because it's based on the Z10, the P'9982 could very well sport the same 4.2-inch display and 8-megapixel camera as its BB10 sibling.

Overall the P'9982 looks like a pretty nice little piece of kit that offers a combo of BlackBerry 10 software and high-end materials. Recent rumors have suggested that the device could make its official debut later this month, and while there's no word yet on how much it might cost, don't be surprised if that number ends up being four figures. Good thing that we've got videos like these that allow us to experience the P'9982 without making our wallets burst into tears.
