Much of Samsung's focus has been on its new Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear lately, but today CEO J.K. Shin shifted the spotlight to the Galaxy S 4. According to Korean publication iNews24, Shin recently revealed that the Galaxy S 4 has sold over 40 million units since its debut back in April. The last time that Samsung updated us on its Galaxy S 4 sales was when the device crossed the 20 million mark in early July, meaning that the company has moved 20 million units in just under 4 months.
All of Samsung's Galaxy S line of smartphones have been big sellers for the South Korean company: the Galaxy S and Galaxy S II have combined for sales of over 50 million units, and the Galaxy S III crossed that figure all by itself earlier this year. Considering the popularity of its predecessors and Samsung's position atop the Android manufacturer heap, it's no surprise to learn that the Galaxy S 4 is experiencing strong sales.
Next up on the S 4's agenda is to cross the 50 million units sold mark itself. While its sales may not be quite as strong now as they were a few months ago, the fact that there are two months and a holiday shopping season left in 2013 could help the Galaxy S 4 to hit its next milestone before the calendar flips over to 2014.
