It's certainly been a while since we've heard anything about the Samsung Galaxy S III mini, but AT&T is changing that today by announcing plans to launch the device later this month. The big blue carrier revealed this morning that it will begin accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S III mini on Sept. 19 ahead of the device's Sept. 27 release. Pricing will be set at $0.99 with a two-year commitment.
The spec sheet for AT&T's Galaxy S III mini is similar to the one belonging to the international model, which originally debuted in October 2012. Included with this shrunken GSIII is a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera and 1GB RAM. Buyers will be greeted by a combo of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Samsung's TouchWiz UI when they power on the device, and once it's up and running, the GSIII mini will connect to AT&T's 4G LTE network.
Speaking of AT&T's LTE network, Ol' Blue also announced today that its LTE footprint has expanded once again. The newly-lit markets that've been announced so far include Torrington and Willimantic, Conn., Fargo, N.D., and Amarillo, Texas. That list may seem somewhat small compared to some of AT&T's previous LTE network expansions, but hey, any new LTE service is good LTE service if you ask me.
