Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini leaks out, looks to continue shrunken smartphone trend

So far in 2013 we've seen Samsung, HTC and Motorola unveil "mini" versions of their flagship smartphones, and now it looks like Alcatel will be the next manufacturer to jump on the miniaturization trend.

Today @evleaks shared an image of the Alcatel One Touch Idol Mini, which unsurprisingly looks like a smaller version of the One Touch Idol that launched earlier this year. There are a few small tweaks with the Mini that are worth noting, including a new camera flash placement, a Menu capacitive key that replaces the One Touch Idol's Multitasking button and what looks to be a slightly tweaked software overlay.

There's no word on what specs the One Touch Idol Mini will be outfitted with, but typically when we see a "mini" device, it's got a feature list that's a step below its full-size sibling. For reference, the full-size One Touch Idol has a 4.7-inch 960x540 display, 1GHz dual-core processor and 8-megapixel rear/2-megapixel front cameras. While it remains to be seen whether or not the One Touch Idol Mini's are indeed a step down from those found on the One Touch Idol, the good news is that because the One Touch Idol is currently selling for $229.99 (down from $299.99), the One Touch Idol Mini could sport a pretty wallet-friendly price tag. More on this little guy as we get it.
