The HTC One is #1 for July 2013

Summary – The HTC One retained its first place positions on PhoneDog’s Official Smartphone Rankings for the month of July, fending off the Samsung Galaxy S 4 for another month to become the top-ranked Android smartphone.  While the buzz centers around the two Android flagships, the Apple iPhone 5 continues to perform well, despite its age.  With at least one new iPhone due in the coming months, will iOS return to the top and dominate Android once again?

MT PLEASANT, SC – PhoneDog Media is pleased to announce the monthly winners for July 2013 in the Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR).  For a fourth month in a row, the HTC One topped the People’s Choice and Expert’s Choice charts, receiving 1,439 total votes and 197 expert points.  HTC’s flagship Android smartphone has received critical acclaim for its metal exterior, powerful specifications, and availability on multiple carriers in the United States.  One is available on AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the United States; availability on Verizon Wireless is expected soon.

In second place on the People’s Choice chart, the Samsung Galaxy S 4, with 517 votes.  Available on multiple carriers in the U.S., the Galaxy S 4 offers a wealth of new features including Air View, S Health, and WatchOn.  Moving into third place on the People’s Choice chart and displacing the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the Apple iPhone 5 with a total of 349 votes.  On the Expert’s Choice chart, the Apple iPhone 5 placed second with 151 votes, while the Samsung Galaxy S 4 remained in third place with 141 points.
