HTC's One has been the Taiwanese firm's star for most of 2013 so far, with a formal introduction early in the year before the device and its aluminum-clad frame hit operators all around the globe. The second half of 2013 is expected to bring with it a pair of siblings for the One, including a smaller "mini" variant as well as a larger "Max" version. While neither model has been confirmed by HTC, several leaks have given us an idea of what to expect from both models, and today the series of leaked reports on the One's siblings continues.
First up, some new photos of the HTC One mini have been posted by German site AndroidNext.de. The images show a shrunken version of the HTC One in black that looks fairly similar to the previously-leaked images of the One mini, including front-facing BoomSound speakers, capacitive home and back keys, and a center-mounted rear camera, much like its full-sized One family member.
Today's HTC One mini leak also brought with it several screenshots of benchmarking apps that are said to reveal many of the phone's specs. The miniaturized One is said to be packing a 1280x720 display, 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, 4-megapixel UltraPixel rear camera, 1.6-megapixel front-facing shooter, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage. The One mini is expected to come preloaded with Android 4.2.2 and HTC's Sense 5 overlay.
Moving on to the bigger sibling, German blog MobileGeeks.de has posted some specs that it claim belong to the HTC One Max. The upcoming phone/tablet hybrid is reportedly packing a 6-inch 1080p Super LCD 3 display on its face as well as a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB/64GB storage, 2GB RAM and 3,200mAh battery inside its chassis.
HTC's One is the company's flagship smartphone, packing high-end specs and a high-res display that's right around the middle of the range of Android smartphone screen sizes today. The One mini and One Max should serve as nice options for consumers that want a One that has a smaller or larger footprint, though, especially since the two models are likely to sport styling similar to the OG One. The HTC One mini is currently expected to debut sometime in early August while the One Max may follow in September, which gives everyone at least a couple more weeks to practice the face that they'll use to feign surprise at the announcements of the two phones.
