AT&T's LG Optimus G Pro receiving Value Pack update today

After LG originally announced its Value Pack update for the Optimus G Pro back in March, it appears that the bundle of software is finally starting to make its way to the AT&T-branded G Pro in the U.S. AT&T announced today on its official Consumer Blog that the Optimus G Pro will begin receiving an update today, July 10.

Included with the update is a number of camera and video features. There's a Dual Camera feature that'll allow users to simultaneously take photos with the G Pro's front and rear cameras, Video Pause and Resume for pausing a video recording and then starting it back up while keeping the footage together in one video, and Smart Video functionality that will pause a video that the user is watching when he or she looks away, then resume it again when the viewer looks back.

LG's Optimus G Pro update also comes with an Unused Apps notifier that will alert users to apps that haven't been used for a while, giving users the ability to delete apps to save on space and background data usage. Rounding out the list of new features are shortcuts for battery and data usage statistics, a Magic Remote Pad for use with LG TVs made in 2012 or later, Home button LED customizations (for alerts and favorite contacts), and the ability to select from over 800 emoticons while sending an email or text message.

Overall it looks like this Value Pack brings quite a few new goodies to AT&T's LG Optimus G Pro. Both the Dual Camera and Video Pause and Resume features could come in handy for users that capture a lot of content with their phones, and the Unused Apps notifier ought to help keep those app drawers clean and the internal storage high. Any Optimus G Pro owners that want to stop reading about these new features and start using them can check for the update manually by connecting to Wi-Fi and then going into Settings > General > About phone > Software update > Update now.
