BlackBerry 10.2 video leak demonstrates how quick-reply notifications work

When it comes to smartphone leaks, I'm sure we can all agree that video is generally better than still images, right? That's why BlackBerry fans that enjoyed yesterday's BlackBerry 10.2 screenshot leak should really be excited about today, as a new video showing BlackBerry 10.2 in action has made its way online.

Posted by Kris Simundson, the same CrackBerry forums member that's been responsible for previous BlackBerry 10.2 leaks, this new clip demonstrates how the 10.2 update's actionable notifications actually work. Once the toast notification pops up, the user can tap on the right side of the alert and begin typing a reply. Once he or she is done, tapping on the "Send" button will send the quick reply message off to its recipient.

This newly-leaked video also shows off other new features found in BlackBerry 10.2, such as the ability to designate priority contacts and groups. Once marked, users will be able to activate a setting so that only notifications from priority contacts will display message previews. Simundson also mentions that level 1 notifications will be accessible by a pinch gesture. Other features that are due to arrive with the BlackBerry 10.2 update include Wi-Fi Direct support, an App Manager and support for multiple alarms.

It's worth noting that the software shown in this video is still in beta, so it's possible that some tweaks could be made to the look or functionality of BlackBerry 10.2's features before its public release. Exactly when that launch will take place is still a mystery, but this update definitely looks like something that BlackBerry 10 users can get excited about, especially when it comes to the actionable notifications. You can check out the BlackBerry 10.2 video for yourself below. Simundson says that he's got another BB 10.2 video coming later today that will showcase a new weather app and some other changes, so stay tuned and I'll update you when that clip appears.
