Black HTC One mini poses for some new photographs

Hot on the heels of a leaked carrier document that featured entries for the HTC One mini in both black and silver, some new images that purportedly show the shrunken device in the wild have made their way online. The shots, which were posted by Bulgarian site Smart News, show a black handset that looks fairly similar to the One mini that's surfaced in two previous photo leaks. One of the images shows that the One mini features a rear camera and flash that are slightly recessed, likely in order to protect the camera lens cover when the phone is laying on its back.

The source of these images claims that the HTC One mini packs a 4.3-inch 720p display, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, dual-core processor and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, all of which line up nicely with other reports concerning the phone. Finally, we're told to expect the One mini sometime in the third quarter, which just so happens to be the three-month period in which the One mini's previously-rumored July or August launch timeframe fits into.

Today's leak doesn't really offer up a ton of new information about the HTC One mini, but it does offer up another close look at the unannounced hardware, so it's tough to complain too much. As for the One mini itself, the phone looks like it could be a worthwhile option for consumers interested in a "smaller" Android smartphone. Many of the small Android phones that we see end up with lower-end specs, and while the One mini's rumored spec list isn't exactly bleeding edge, features like a 720p display and 2GB of RAM ought to make it a pretty respectable little handset. What do you think of the HTC One mini? Would you pick one up if it hit your carrier of choice?
