It's now been a few months since T-Mobile officially launched its new Simple Choice Plan, and now that the refreshed rates have had some time to sink in, it looks like T-Mobile is ready to get phase two of its Un-carrier transition underway. Our pals at TmoNews have gotten hold of some internal T-Mobile documents that have revealed that the big magenta carrier's employees have begun training for what T-Mobile refers to as "the July Un-carrier release."
According to the leaked docs, this new Un-carrier phase will bring with it a new Simple Choice plan option that doesn't require a credit check. This opens up T-Mobile's Simple Choice offerings to consumers that don't want to have their credit run or who would normally have to pay a high deposit. TmoNews has heard that the rates for these plans will be similar to T-Mobile's current Simple Choice offerings. It's also said that T-Mobile won't be offering an Equipment Installment Plan with these no credit check offerings, meaning that interested customers would need to pay for their equipment outright.
Other details on this new Simple Choice plan with no credit check are still fairly light at this point, but the leaked documentation does contain a mention of a prepaid family add-a-line plan that will offer unlimited talk, text and web to four lines for $100 per month. There's also a reference to "On-Demand Data Passes" that enable consumers to use data while traveling overseas with the International Data Roaming Pass.
We'll have to wait until T-Mobile actually announces these new Simple Choice offerings before we get the full skinny, but so far they sound like worthwhile options for consumers that want to avoid a credit check or a crazy-high deposit. The good news is that we're almost out of June and into July, which is apparently when the new Simple Choice options are slated to launch to the public.
