AT&T makes Galaxy Note Jelly Bean update official, available today through Samsung Kies

Just as expected, AT&T this morning announced that its version of the original Samsung Galaxy Note can be updated to Jelly Bean starting May 3. The update will bump the Galaxy Note up to Android 4.1.2, build number I717UCMD3, and will bring with it new features like expandable notifications, Google Now, Popup Note, Popup Video and Popup Browser. Samsung says that Galaxy Note owners can also expect better call quality and an improved keyboard.

Galaxy Note owners that'd like to experience all of those new goodies first-hand will need to gather up their phone, a microUSB cable and their computer. That's because the update is available through Samsung's Kies software. That may bum out some OG Note folks that were hoping for a quick and easy over the air update process, but hey, all of the new features that a Jelly Bean update brings are definitely worth the effort that grabbing those items and running Kies requires. All of the necessary download links and installation instructions can be found at the Samsung link below.
