Mysterious Motorola Android phone for AT&T appears in leaked images [UPDATED]

Time to put on your deerstalker and prepare your best Sherlock Holmes impression, friends, because we've got a bit of a mystery for you this afternoon. Twitter user @evleaks just posted a few images that show an unknown Motorola device in the wild, and the device appears to be in a special case that's meant to hide its true identity.

The only detail about the phone that was included with the tweet is that it's a "Blackboxed Motorola for AT&T." We can see the name "AT&T" on the left side of the device's status bar, and in the image on the far right, AT&T's unmistakable "4G LTE" logo can be seen. There also appears to be a front-facing camera and possibly a notification LED on either side of the earpiece.

Without any other details, it's tough to figure out exactly what this mysterious Motorola device is. However, several aspects of the phone appear similar to that new Motorola device with rounded corners that leaked out in March. That includes the rounded corners, Motorola logo (which appears to be different in each of these new photos), carrier name in the status bar and what looks to be a pretty vanilla version of Android Jelly Bean.

For now it appears that the true identity of this phone will remain a mystery. The fact that it's a new Motorola device that seems to be running a fairly stock version of Android is sure to get many folks interested in finding out what it is, though, and you can bet that we'll be keeping an eye out for any more details on this device. UPDATE: Now @evleaks has posted a photo that is allegedly this Motorola phone's rear. The image shows a center-mounted camera and a sticker with extremely blurry text. However, the "Model" section appears to say "XFON ATT" or something similar. A larger version of the photo is available in the gallery below.
