AT&T LG Optimus G update officially arriving today, Isis Mobile Wallet support in tow

As expected, it looks like those lucky AT&T LG Optimus G owners that were able to snag a Jelly Bean update yesterday were just getting in on the official rollout a bit early. AT&T just made the Optimus G's Android 4.1 update officially official, announcing that the Jelly Bean bump will be made available for download today, April 4. Along with the usual Jelly Bean goodies such as Google Now and expandable notifications, the Optimus G will also be gaining support for Isis Mobile Wallet with today's update. Isis is currently holding trials for its mobile payment service in Austin and Salt Lake City, and AT&T says that Optimus G owners in those markets can stop by their local AT&T store to get the special SIM card needed for use with Isis Mobile Wallet.

AT&T LG Optimus G users that'd like to move up to Jelly Bean and start checking out all of the improvements that it has to offer can do so by updating their device over the air. After hooking up to a Wi-Fi connection, Optimus G owners can head into Settings > General > About phone > Software Update > Update now to try and snag the Android 4.1 update manually.

While not all AT&T Optimus G folk will be able to take advantage of the new Isis Mobile Wallet support that's included in today's update, the inclusion of other enhancements like Google Now and a data usage calculator make for an update that Optimus G owners on Big Blue's network should download as soon as possible. Be sure to give us a shout once the update makes its way to your device!
