Samsung Galaxy Note II remains #1 on both sides of the charts

In week 54 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, the Samsung Galaxy Note II kept the first place title from the BlackBerry Z10 yet again, keeping Android firmly on top of BlackBerry 10.  Galaxy Note II seems to have returned to the top, but can it withstand the competition that is sure to come from the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One?

MT PLEASANT, SC – For 54 weeks and counting, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) has become the gold standard for ranking the market's greatest smartphones by placing votes from readers and experts alike in respective charts each week.  Week 54 saw the Samsung Galaxy Note II retain the first place position on the People’s Choice chart, holding off the BlackBerry Z10 with a total of 462 votes.

Once the first place champion, the BlackBerry Z10 moved from fourth place to second place with 163 votes.  The Google Nexus 4 dropped to the third place spot with 146 votes, while the Samsung Galaxy S III moved to fourth place with a total of 115 votes.  Rounding out the People’s Choice chart, the Nokia Lumia 920 with 76 votes.  On the Expert’s Choice chart, the Samsung Galaxy Note II held the first place position with 44 points, while the Apple iPhone 5 remained in second place with 38 points.  A newcomer to the Official Smartphone Rankings, the HTC One (global) debuted in third place with 35 points, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S III with 33 points.  Rounding out the expert’s list, the Google Nexus 4 with 21 points.

“Samsung’s Galaxy Note II retained the first place crown for another week, though I expect the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 to give it some competition," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
