Sony C670X rumored with 4.8-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 600 CPU and Android 4.2

Looks like the recently-leaked Sony Xperia SP now has a sibling to keep it company in the rumor mill. A new report from XperiaBlog claims to have details on a Sony device with the model number C670X, which will reportedly be coming to market with the same 1920x1080 resolution as Sony's Xperia Z/ZL but with a 4.8-inch display, slightly smaller than the 5-incher found on the Xperia Z/ZL. This C670X is also said to feature a Qualcomm's new quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, 13-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It's rumored that the C670X could launch in the middle of 2013.

While the Sony C670X is still very much a rumor at this point, the new Snapdragon 600 chipset is a becoming a popular component of high-end Android phones (like the Snapdragon 800 likely will be later this year), so I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Sony's got a device or two that includes Qualcomm's new silicon kicking around its labs. The rumored specs of this C670X make it sound like a fairly modest upgrade to the Xperia Z/ZL, featuring a newer processor, a bit more built-in storage and the same display resolution, though with a slightly smaller screen size. Still, I'm sure that Sony would like to respond to the LG Optimus G Pro and HTC One with its own Snapdragon 600-equipped hardware as soon as possible, and the C670X might be the phone that it does so with.
