New evasi0n jailbreak tool for iOS 6 devices officially launches

Today's the day that many iOS fans have been waiting for, as Super Bowl Sunday is over and Jailbreak Monday has arrived. A new tool dubbed "evasi0n" has been released today that promises to jailbreak all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini devices running iOS 6.0 or 6.1, which are the latest versions of Apple's mobile operating system. The evasi0n tool is available on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, meaning that just about anyone can get in on the jailbreak fun, and the evad3rs team responsible for the software say that the process should only take about five minutes.

Apple released iOS 6 in mid-September 2012, and since then iOS tinkerers have been without a tool that allowed them to dive into their device and customize it however they'd like. The evad3rs team has finally found their way into the latest version of iOS, though, and now anyone that can't live without a jailbreak can move up to iOS 6.1 and get to tweaking. As usual, while the evasi0n tool has been tested and users should be ok as long as they can follow instructions, PhoneDog isn't responsible if you attempt to jailbreak your iDevice of choice and somehow turn it into an non-functioning iBrick. The evasi0n tool itself and all of the necessary information can be found at the link below. How many of you plan on jailbreaking with evasi0n now that it's available?
