BlackBerry 10 camera app and built-in photo filters demoed on video

Next up in the long line of BlackBerry 10 leaks, we've got the camera app with built-in filters. A video has been posted by The Gadget Masters showing BlackBerry 10's camera app in action on a BlackBerry Z10, and in the clip we get a peek at the different ways that a user can edit their photos using BB10's built-in transformation tools. Just like popular photo-sharing apps Instagram and Twitter, there are several different filters that can be applied to change the look of an image, and there are also some basic editing tools like crop and rotate packed in.

While the person operating the Z10 in this clip notes that neither the hardware nor the software shown are final, both the process of taking the photo and applying the various filters appear to work well enough. Instagram and filtered photos in general have become pretty popular, and it looks like RIM is planning to try and capitalize on that by building its own filters into BlackBerry 10. The ability to snap a photo and then filter it without having to download a separate app may not be enough to sell someone on BlackBerry 10 on its own, but it is another item that can be added to BB10's list of features, and it could help to push a potential customer that likes photo filters in the direction of RIM's new OS. The video showing BlackBerry 10's camera and filters in action is embedded below for your viewing pleasure.
