Sprint says Upgrade Now program is "currently now unavailable"

Hey Sprint folk, remember Upgrade Now? The program, which we first got wind of in February, allowed customers to pay a fee (which varied depending on how long it'd been since their last upgrade) to receive upgrade pricing on a new device ahead of their actual upgrade date. Unfortunately, Sprint today confirmed to Android Central that Upgrade Now is "currently now unavailable." The good news is that the program could make a return in the future, as Sprint added that users could "check back later to see if the program has been reinstated," and a leaked memo also mentions that Upgrade now has been "temporarily discontinued."

While the Upgrade Now program may not have been something that every Now Network customer took advantage of, I'm sure that there are some frequent upgraders out there that are a bit bummed to see it go. Sprint didn't say precisely why Upgrade Now is being yanked, but hey, there's appears to be a chance that it could come back at some point in the future. We'll be sure to let you know if we hear anything about the program being reinstated. Have any of you Sprint folk out there ever taken advantage of Upgrade Now?
