Android 4.2.1 update begins making its way to Nexus devices

Heads up, Nexus owners, as Google appears to be pushing out an update that you may want to install if you care at all about the month of December. Several Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 owners on the Android Central forums and Talk Android are reporting that an update to Android 4.2.1 has begun hitting their devices, weighing in at just 1.1MB in size. The update includes a patch for a bug that omitted December from the list of months when users would try to enter an event into the People app. The build number of the update is JOP40D.

While no official changelog has been produced for the Android 4.2.1 update just yet, some Nexus 4 owners will likely be pleased to hear about one particular item that doesn't seem to be included. The update looks to have left the Nexus 4's ability to access LTE on band 4 (which is only useful on certain Canadian carriers) intact, so anyone that's been humming along on LTE with their N4 should be able to install 4.2.1 without hesitation. As with most over the air updates, this one looks to be going out in phases, so don't fret too much if your particular Nexus hasn't gotten it quite yet. Once it does hit, though, be sure to give us a shout in the comments below!
