Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 now available for purchase from Google Play [UPDATED]

Right on schedule, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 are now available for purchase from the Devices section of the Google Play store. The LG Nexus 4 is available with 8GB of built-in storage for $299.99 or 16GB of memory for $349.99. The device comes contract-free and features HSPA+ connectivity. Also available is a bumper case for the Nexus 4, which comes in black and offers protection for the new phone while still allowing owners to show off its glass backside. The Nexus 4 bumper is priced at $19.99. For those that may have missed the Nexus 4's initial introduction, here's what your hard-earned cash will get you:

  • 4.7-inch 1280x768 IPS display
  • 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 8-megapixel rear, 1.3-megapixel front cameras
  • 2GB RAM
  • 2,100mAh battery
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Moving on to the larger of the two new devices, the Samsung Nexus 10 tablet is available in 16GB or 32GB sizes for $399.99 and $499.99, respectively. The rundown of Nexus 10 specs looks like this:

  • 10.055-inch 2560x1600 display
  • Exynos 5 Dual dual-core processor
  • 5-megapixel rear, 1.9-megapixel front cameras
  • 2GB RAM
  • 9,000mAh battery
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Also available from the Google Play store is the new 3G-capable version of the Nexus 7. This model features many of the same specs as the Nexus 7 that launched earlier this year, but it packs a cellular radio that packs 3G support on the 850, 900, 1700, 1900 and 2100MHz bands, meaning it should play nice with both AT&T and T-Mobile. The cellular-capable Nexus 7 comes unlocked and also includes 32GB storage.

The Nexus 4 was the subject of many, many leaks in the month or so leading up to its introduction, but it's still good to see the new handset finally available for purchase. With a quad-core processor, high-res display and the latest version of Android, the Nexus 4 will likely be a must-have item for many Android fans over the holidays. UPDATE: It looks like both the 8GB and 16GB versions of the Nexus 4 have already sold out, with the product pages for the two models now saying "Coming Soon."

UPDATE 2: The official Nexus page on Google+ has confirmed that the new Nexus devices are sold out in some parts of the world. Google says that it's working to replenish its stock "in the coming weeks," so anyone that couldn't grab a new Nexus today may want to keep an eye on the Play store in the next week or two.
