It's widely expected that Apple will be unveiling its iPad mini at its upcoming October 23 event, and although the rumor mill seems fairly confident about what the device will look like, one aspect of the smaller iPad that's still yet to be nailed down is its pricing. 9to5Mac claims to have the details on in a new report today, saying that the site's sources have indicated that the base iPad mini of an undisclosed capacity is going to "likely" be priced at $329. Two models with more storage are expected to be available for $429 and $529. Customers interested in a cellular-enabled iPad mini may end up paying a $130 premium for that feature, meaning that those models may be priced at $459, $559 and $659.
There haven't been many reports on the possible pricing of the iPad mini up to now, with one claiming that it'll be quite a bit less than the new iPad's $499 starting price and another saying that the smaller iPad could start at around $200 or $250. The latter report surfaced back in early May, so it's possible that the Cupertino firm's plans may have changed since then. As for the iPad mini itself, the device is rumored to feature a 7.85-inch display as well as Apple's new Lightning connector. All of the details of the device, including its name, are still very much a rumor at this point, but thankfully we've only got a few more days to wait before Apple will likely be trotting the smaller iPad out on stage and spilling the official beans on it.
