Several Android device manufacturers have come forward recently to spill the (jelly) beans on which of their products will be updated to Android 4.1, and the latest firm to talk Google's latest treat is Acer. An Acer spokesperson has told Computerworld which of the company's tablets will be updated to Jelly Bean, and the good news is that there's a quartet of Acer slates that'll get the latest version of Android. The Iconia Tab A110 is the first of the bunch, and Acer actually announced last month that the slate will come with Jelly Bean preinstalled. The Iconia Tab A210 and A510 are both expected to be updated sometime in the future. The final model is the Iconia Tab A700, which Acer says began the Android 4.1 update process last week.
Unfortunately, there are also a few Acer tablets that won't be updated to Jelly Bean. The company spokesperson revealed that the Iconia Tab A100, A200 and A500 will all remain on the version of Android that they're currently running. That's certainly a disappointment for owners of those models, but they should be running Ice Cream Sandwich at this point, so at least they've still got a recent (for now, anyway) version of Android. As for those models that are due to be updated to Jelly Bean, stay tuned for more on when those upgrades will actually begin making their way to users. Any of you own one of these Acer slates?
UPDATE: Acer has now told Computerworld that the Jelly Bean updates for the Iconia Tab A210 and A510 will be rolling out sometime this quarter. The company also confirmed that the Iconia Tab A110 will ship with Android 4.1 preinstalled.
