Last week saw many AT&T and Verizon customers gain access to new or expanded 4G LTE coverage, and now it's Sprint's turn to offer up some new LTE coverage. Sprint announced this morning that it has expanded its LTE service to new areas in Kansas, Illinois and Massachusetts. The newly-covered markets are:
- Lawrence, Kan.
- Topeka, Kan.
- Wichita, Kan.
- Waukegan-Lake County, Ill.
- Barnstable-Hyannis/Mid-Cape, Mass.
Additionally, Sprint notes that some customers in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York should begin seeing improved 3G service today. The arrival of Sprint LTE coverage in the five aforementioned markets has helped to push the total number of areas with the service up to 24, and Sprint recently revealed a list of over 100 cities that will gain access to its LTE network some time "in the coming months." Five of the cities on that list can now be crossed off, but that still leaves plenty of Sprint customers that are hungry for LTE coverage.
