Apple retail stores allowed to match iPhone price cuts from retailers and carriers, leaked doc shows

Apple's new iPhone may (reportedly) be just around the corner, but if you don't feel like waiting and you don't mind picking up an iPhone 4 or 4S, you can get a deal from some retailers. It looks like those discounts can now be applied at Apple's retail stores as well, as an image sent to MacRumors shows that Apple's brick and mortar locations have been given the go-ahead to match iPhone price cuts from approved retailers and carriers. For example, the 8GB iPhone 4 can be had at an Apple store for $49.99, while the Sprint 32GB iPhone 4S can be discounted to $249.99. It's worth noting that customers will likely need to cite the offer that they'd like to take advantage of before Apple will match the price.

While customers could always get these discounts at their respective retailers and carriers, it's good to see that Apple has finally decided to match those discounted prices. The move allows customers that'd prefer to shop at one of the Cupertino firm's own outlets to do just that and still receive a discounted iPhone, and it could also help Apple to clear out some of its iPhone 4 and 4S stock. Of course, there's a chance that Apple will offer further discounts once the new iPhone is released. If you're not in a waiting mood, though, you can select a discounted model that you'd like to purchase and mosey on down to your local Apple retail store to pick it up.
