Earlier this week it was revealed that Judge Lucy Koh denied Samsung's request to stay Apple's injunction of the Galaxy Nexus here in the U.S., and shortly after that decision was made public, the device was no longer available for purchase on Google Play. At the time, Google said that sales of Galaxy Nexus would resume next week, but the company didn't explain why they'd been stopped in the first place. Google has decided to shed more light on the situation today, though, confirming to ABC News that it stopped sales of the Galaxy Nexus in response to the injunction. The search company also reaffirmed that the Galaxy Nexus will go back on sale next week with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in tow.
It's kind of a bummer that, shortly after Google confirmed at I/O that the Galaxy Nexus would be updated to Android 4.1 in mid-July, the device had to be pulled from Google Play due to the injunction against it. Thankfully, it won't be long before the Galaxy Nexus is back on the Play store, and the good news is that it'll be packing Google's latest treat for new buyers of the handset. There's no mention of exactly when the device will be going on sale, but you can bet that we'll let you know when to whip out that credit card. Stay tuned.
