While LG hasn't exactly been the most prolific Android tablet manufacturer (especially here in the U.S.), the company has released a handful of slates. It doesn't sound like we'll be seeing much in the way of new LG tablets in the near future, though, as a spokesperson for the company has said that that it plans to push its tablet development off to the side for now and pour its efforts into smartphones instead. "We’ve decided to put all new tablet development on the back burner for the time being in order to focus on smartphones," the spokesperson told Bloomberg.
LG last year teamed up with T-Mobile to launch the Honeycomb-powered G-Slate, but since then we haven't heard much about new LG tablets here in the U.S., although it's worth noting that the company did introduce the Optimus Pad LTE in Korea earlier this year. While it's kind of a bummer to hear that LG is putting a hold on its tablet work for now, it's been so long since we've seen a new slate from them in the U.S. that the situation with LG going forward shouldn't be too different from the way it's been. At least we've got upcoming LG smartphones like the rumored VS930 and LS970 to look forward to. How many of you have owned an LG tablet like the G-Slate?
