Microsoft hosting Windows Phone Developer Summit on June 20th and 21st

Looks like your June just got a little busier. Microsoft has revealed that it's going to host the Windows Phone Developer Summit in San Francisco on June 20th and 21st, putting it smack dab in the middle of Apple's WWDC event that runs from June 11th through the 15th and Google I/O, which will be happening June 27th through the 29th. It's not yet clear exactly what we can expect to see out of Microsoft's gathering, but as the name suggests, at least the majority of it will likely be developer-focused.

Microsoft has been taking some steps lately to help improve the Windows Phone Marketplace, including killing off the Zune-based Marketplace to better focus on its web and phone stores as well as giving tips to developers on how to make sure their app doesn't get pulled. It'll be interesting to see how the company uses this event to continue to better the Marketplace and attract more developers to add to the platform's pile of 80,000+ apps. You can bet that we'll be keeping tabs on the event as it happens, so keep it locked to the site for news from the Windows Phone Developer Summit next month. Until then, why don't you Windows Phone fans swing by the comments below and tell us about any existing apps for Microsoft's platform that you're currently digging?
