It seems like there have been more purported Samsung Galaxy S III leaks than there are employees at Samsung, but a new report may contain one of the clearest looks at the upcoming handset yet. It's worth noting that Samsung is likely using a dummy outer shell to hide the final design of its new Galaxy S device, so don't be surprised if the phone that gets unveiled on May 3rd doesn't look like what you see above. However, Vietnamese site Tinhte, which has been the source of accurate leaks in the past, has posted photos and video showing a device that identifies itself as "GT-i9300" that may feature the internals of Samsung's next flagship handset.
So what kind of specs does this mystery device contain? According to Tinhte, it's got an 1184x720 (Android doesn't report portion of the display taken up by on-screen navigation keys) display that's estimated to measure 4.6 inches in size. Under the hood is a quad-core 1.4GHz processor and 1GB RAM as well as 16GB of internal storage that can be supplemented with a microSD card. Other purported specs include an 8-megapixel camera, NFC, a 2,050mAh battery and Android 4.0.3 beneath Samsung's TouchWiz UI, including on-screen navigation buttons. In other leaky Samsung news, a report from the Korean site Maeil Business claims that Samsung is prepping a new cloud service dubbed "S-Cloud" that may be unveiled at the company's May 3rd event. Not much is known about the service yet, but it's said that S-Cloud will be similar to Apple's iCloud service except that users will be able to store any content they wish and that it'll also allow access to free and paid content like TV shows and music.
So there you go, folks. While none of this is officially official until Samsung makes it so next month, the purported specs of this GT-i9300 sound like something that Samsung could pack into its new Galaxy S handset and also match up with some of the rumored features that we've heard in the past. Now we're left wondering what Samsung may decide to do with the design of the outer shell of the next Galaxy S device. The good news is that we won't be waiting on the edge of our seat much longer, as May 3rd is getting close. Stay tuned.
