LG's series of pre-MWC phone announcements continues! Today the manufacturer announced the LG Optimus 4X HD, a device that we've seen leak a couple of times in the past as the X3. Landing in Europe in the second quarter, the Optimus 4X HD packs a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor under its hood and will be powered by a 2,150mAh battery. Other specs for the 4X HD include a 4.7-inch 1280x720 True HD IPS display, 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB storage and 1GB RAM in a body that measures in at 8.99mm thick. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will come preloaded on the 4X HD.
Sounds like a pretty beefy handset, no? It's good to see more handsets that'll be coming to market with ICS in tow, and the Optimus 4X HD's large display and Tegra 3 core makes it even more desirable for all of us that need the latest and greatest hardware. We've yet to hear about any U.S. launch plans for the 4X HD, but a rumor from yesterday suggested that a T-Mobile variant may be in the works. There's no guarantee that that'll actually come to fruition, but it's something to keep in mind.
