The LG smartphone leaks continue! Just a couple of days after we got another peek at the LG Optimus Vu in the wild, a new render of the LG CX2 has surfaced online. Expected to be the successor to the LG Optimus 3D (and possibly headed to market as the Optimus 3D MAX), the CX2 first showed up late last month and is back again today showing off a new white front and a custom UI that looks slight refreshed from previous LG devices. The report from ETNews also mentions that the CX2 will measure in at 9.8mm and will shed a little of the weight found on the original Optimus 3D. It's also said that the new device will feature a high-res IPS display, suggesting that the new 3D handset's screen may have a higher resolution than the WVGA display that had previously been rumored for the device.
We'll have to wait until LG introduces the CX2 and gives up its official spec sheet before passing judgment on the device, but we're hoping that today's news of a resolution bump turns out to be true. So far, 3D-capable handsets don't seem to have taken off like manufacturers may have hoped, but a display with something better than the previously-rumored WVGA resolution could certainly help increase interest in this Optimus 3D follow-up.
