Rumors of quad-core Android handsets are nothing new, with reports of an HTC-made Tegra 3 device dubbed Edge Endeavor originating back in November. Today the list of upcoming phones packing quad-core heat has grown by one, though, thanks to the product you see above. According to the folks at Pocketnow, that's the LG X3. Besides a Tegra 3 processor, the X3 is said to feature a large 4.7-inch 1280x720 display as well as Google's latest dessert, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Other purported specs for the X3 include an 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel shooter around front, 16GB of internal storage, NFC, 2,000mAh battery and 21Mbps HSPA support, though Pocketnow notes that an LTE model may be made available in some parts of the world. All of those features are crammed into a body that's believed to measure in at below 9mm thick.
Sound good? Now for the bad news: The LG X3 isn't rumored to be hitting store shelves until late spring or early summer, and it's not yet known exactly what the handset will be known as when it does hit retail. Thankfully we may not have to wait that long just to see the thing unveiled, as a debut a Mobile World Congress next month is reportedly in the cards.
