Earlier this month rumors began circulating that Apple was planning on holding an event in New York City later in January. Now those reports have been validated, as Apple has sent out invites to an announcement taking place on January 19th. The gathering will indeed be held in New York City at the Guggenheim Museum, and as you can see in the invite above, the focus of the event will be on education.
It remains to be seen what kind of education news that Apple plans to announce on the 19th, but the aforementioned rumors alleged that the event will have something to do with publishing and eBooks. How will mobile fit into Apple's education equation? That's still up in the air, but we'll be sure to keep an eye on the shindig and let you know about any pertinent news that comes out of it.
