Samsung Replenish Gingerbread update now rolling out

Earlier today Google revealed that the number of Android devices accessing the Market with Gingerbread has grown to 55.5 percent of all Android products. Exactly how that number will look next month isn't yet clear, but we do know that when it's announced, the Samsung Replenish will be part of the count for the first time. Today Sprint announced that the Replenish is now in the process of being bumped up to Android 2.3 Gingerbread thanks to the EK18 software update. Besides bringing all of the usual Gingerbread goodies, EK18 also packs in a fix for an SMS messaging bug. As usual, we've got the changelog ready and waiting for you:

Enhancements/Fixes:

  • Upgraded OS from Froyo to Gingerbread (Android 2.3)
    • Increased operating system speed and efficiency
    • One touch word selection and copy/paste
    • Improved power management
    • Downloads Management
  • SMS messaging fix

If you've yet to see the update on your own Replenish, don't fret! Sprint says that EK18 is rolling out in stages and should reach 100 percent of devices within 10 days. We haven't heard much about the Replenish since it made its debut earlier this year, but it's good to see Sprint and Samsung treat users of the portrait QWERTY device to a taste of Gingerbread. Own a Replenish? We'd love to hear from you in the comments below once you get EK18 up and running!
