Apple still investigating battery problems after iOS 5.0.1 update

Yesterday Apple issued iOS 5.0.1 to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users that it said included fixes for the battery life issues that some users had been seeing. While the update has done the trick for some, it apparently hasn't solved everyone's battery woes, as several users on Apple's support forums have complained that the batteries on their iDevices are still draining as quickly as they were before the 5.0.1 update. Apple today issued a statement on the problem, saying that it continues to "investigate a few remaining issues." The word straight from the folks in Cupertino:

“The recent iOS software update addressed many of the battery issues that some customers experienced on their iOS 5 devices. We continue to investigate a few remaining issues.”

Although the iOS 5.0.1 update and the relative speed at which it came was good to see, it's kind of a bummer that there are still so many folks still having battery problems with iOS 5. It's not clear when Apple plans to roll out a new update with more fixes for the issues, but here's to hoping that the company is just as swift with it as it was with 5.0.1. After all, an iDevice with a bad battery will quickly transform into nothing more than an iBrick. How did the iOS 5.0.1 update affect you? Are you seeing better battery life with it, did it do nothing to improve problem, or did you never have a problem to begin with?
