Samsung and Google holding Ice Cream Sandwich event on October 19th in Hong Kong [UPDATED]

Originally Google and Samsung were expected to unveil Android Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime during a Samsung Unpacked event at CTIA this week, but as I'm sure many of you unhappily recall, that event was ultimately postponed. Thankfully we won't have to wait long to see Google and Samsung trot out their new goodies on stage, as the two companies just sent out an invite for an event taking place on October 19th in Hong Kong. For those of you that just can't make the trek to China for the event — it is kind of late notice, and you know how expensive last-minute plane tickets can be — the event will be kicking off on October 18th at 10:00 PM ET here in the States.

Everyone was understandably a little bummed when Samsung and Google decided to push back their original Ice Cream Sandwich unveiling, but considering how big ICS and the new Nexus are for SamGoog, you know that they couldn't keep us waiting around too long. As usual, we'll be covering the whole event while on the edge of our seats, bringing you all of the news on ICS, the Galaxy Nexus/Nexus Prime, and whatever else Samsung and Google might have up their sleeves. Stay tuned.

UPDATE: What timing! It seems that a Google software engineer has posted a photo showing that the Ice Cream Sandwich statue has finally landed on Google's campus. The image has since been yanked from the employee's Google+ account, but you can find it below.
