Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update now rolling out to 50 percent of devices

Last week we finally saw the rollout of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango begin, which is exciting! At the time, though, Microsoft cautioned that the new software would be pushed out gradually and that most users would have it within four weeks. That's kind of a bummer! However, Microsoft announced today that, because the update has been going smoothly, it's going to "open the spigot ahead of schedule" and distribute Mango to 50 percent of users starting right now. For those of you that are curious as to why the update isn't being pushed to everyone, Microsoft says that it's still collecting and analyzing data, but it did promise an update on the process next week.

It's good to hear that the Windows Phone 7.5 update hasn't hit any snags or anything so far, especially considering how long all of the Windows Phone folk Windows Pholk out there have been waiting for a taste of Mango. For those of you that get notified of the new software on your handset, you can find out how to actually download and install it at Microsoft's dedicated Update Central site right here. And for those of you that are still chugging away on NoDo? Your time will come soon enough. Until it does, be sure to check out Taylor's review of Mango. Not only is it full of photos and review-y goodness, it'll help prep you for the big day when Windows Phone 7.5 finally comes your way.
