Earlier this month we saw Eric Schmidt narrow the potential Android Ice Cream Sandwich launch window from Q4 to October/November, and now that window may have been shrunk once again. In a post on the official Notion Ink blog, CEO Rohan Shravan has let slip that Google plans to release ICS in "late Oct." Shravan touched a bit further on the topic with the folks at Phone Arena, saying that Google has given early builds of the new OS to some chip suppliers and OEMs. Finally, Shravan says that OMAP will be the "preferred platform" for upcoming devices and that products with TI's chips will see an update to ICS before those with Tegra.
The CEO of Notion Ink may not be the most official source for info on the launch of Ice Cream Sandwich, but for anyone that's hungry for a taste of Google's next dessert, this news is at least something to whet your appetite on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
