HTC Runnymede to sport Gingerbread, Beats audio, and a 4.7-inch display? [UPDATED]

HTC and Android fans take note, because we've got a new codename for you to keep in the back of your mind: Runnymede. According to a report out of Pocketnow, this mysterious Gingerbread handset is coming in time for the holidays, although there's no word yet on which carrier(s) it might be destined for or what it'll be called when it does finally launch. However, what we do have are some details on the specs that the Runnymede may be packing when it hits:

  • 4.7-inch 480x800 display
  • 1.5GHz single-core MSM8255 processor (same CPU as the Flyer)
  • 8-megapixel camera with backlit sensor and 28mm wide-angle lens
  • 720p HD video capture at 60 frames per second
  • 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 768MB RAM
  • 16GB storage
  • SRS surround sound
  • Android 2.3.4 beneath HTC Sense 3.5
  • DLNA
  • Less than 10mm thick
  • Beats headphones included

Not bad, right? Sure, some of the Runnymede's rumored specs — like the WVGA screen resolution — aren't quite up to snuff with other high-end Android devices that are currently available, but anyone with an interest in having a good camera phone or jamming to some sweet Beats beats may want to keep an eye out for this HTC-made handset. More as we get it.

UPDATE: The folks at AndroidGuys recently got their hands on the document you see below, which confirms several of the rumored specs (if this image is legit, that is) and adds a few more into the mix.
