Sharp FX Plus officially arrives at Walmart with Android 2.2 in tow

After leaking out a couple of times last month and making its way around the blog world, the Sharp FX Plus for AT&T has finally been made official. For sale exclusively at Walmart, the FX Plus features a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 3-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, 2GB microSD card preinstalled, 7.2Mbps download speeds, and Android 2.2. When it comes to pricing, Sharp's latest offering is listed as being free with a two-year contract on Walmart's website, although it's currently backordered. Those of you that'd prefer to go the contract-free route can expect to pay $349.99 for the FX Plus.

As we've said before, the Sharp FX Plus isn't the most high-end Android phone that's ever been released, but it does look like a pretty serviceable messaging phone, especially for first-time smartphone owners. It's also worth mentioning that AT&T has said that all 2011 post-paid Android phones will see an update to Android 2.3, so that's something for all prospective buyers to consider. Anyone biting?
