The HTC EVO 3D may have just been released on Sprint last week, but just because we can buy the phone doesn't mean its story ends there. An HTC device bearing the model number PG86300 just passed through the FCC with support for the same 1700MHz band that T-Mobile uses for its 3G network here in the States, and some think that the PG86300 could be a GSM version of the EVO 3D that may eventually make its way to Magenta.
So is the EVO 3D actually going to be released on T-Mobile? I'm not sure I'd hold my breath. As noted on HTC's site, the European flavor of the EVO 3D packs AWS connectivity, meaning that the FCC may just be testing the European model or that the device will be released up in Canada. Plus, it'd be pretty strange to see Sprint allow some other U.S. carrier to release an EVO-branded smartphone. That said, anything is possible in this crazy mixed-up world we call a mobile industry, and even if T-Mo doesn't end up releasing a version of the EVO 3D, at least we know that you could import the device if you really want to.
