Sony's dual-screened S2 tablet has been laying pretty low ever since it was introduced in late April, but today the Honeycomb-powered device is back in the headlines after an appearance in the FCC. Going by the model number SGPT211US, the S2 was approved for use with the 850/1900MHz bands that AT&T uses for its 3G network. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that the S2 will ever make it to AT&T's shelves, but it's certainly a possibility.
Although the S2 shares a lot of its specs with other Honeycomb-powered slates currently on the market, like Honeycomb and a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, the fact that it's also got a pair of 5.5-inch 1024x480 displays should help it stand out a bit in the Android tablet crowd. Unfortunately, Sony hasn't said when the S2 will be launching (outside of a vague "fall" timeframe) or how much it'll cost when it does, but you can be sure we'll let you know more when we do.
