Nexus S 4G makes its way to the top of PhoneDog's "Top Smartphones" list for Sprint

Ever since the launch of the EVO 4G, Sprint has taken a serious liking to the little green robot. They have expanded their smartphone lineup in every direction, adding devices of all flavors, prices and styles. With such a broad selection and one of the hottest Android phones to have ever been released, it has been hard for newcomers to make it to the top smartphones list.

But when we heard that the Nexus S 4G was being added to Sprint's lineup, it was pretty evident that it would also make its way to the top of our list. With a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, NFC, a front-facing camera, and WiMAX connectivity, some may argue that the Nexus S 4G may fall short of the former title holder. Many may also believe that the build quality falls short of the EVO or the lack of a microSD card slot is a serious deal breaker. But with a Vanilla Android experience, the promise of speedy updates, and consistency other Android phones only strive to achieve, the Nexus S 4G takes the cake.

With the Nexus S 4G jumping to the number one spot, both the Epic 4G and EVO 4G were shifted down one place each. The Epic now rests at number two and the EVO brings up the bottom of the pack with the third spot on our list. It's honestly odd seeing what was considered the best Android phone just months ago slowly losing its grip on the top smartphones list.

All things considered, there are some serious next gen superphones on their way with 3D video and camera abilities, 3D displays and dual-core processors. How long will this top smartphones list last? Will the upcoming superphones put our current list to shame? Will Sprint be the one to get the best overall Android phone again?
