We've heard several reports, with the most recent one popping up yesterday, claiming that the next-gen iPhone will feature a design similar to the iPhone 4 but with some small cosmetic changes. Today a couple of leaks have revealed exactly what one of those changes may be: a redesigned camera flash. The first bit of evidence of this alteration comes from an "iPhone 5G" case posted on Alibaba, which shows a new hole on the right side of the device for a new camera flash placement as well as a thin bezel, although it's worth noting that the companies iPhone 4 crystal cases have a similar thin bezel design.
Next up we have a purported image of the iPhone 5's camera parts alongside those of an iPhone 4, which you can see below. Obviously the big difference is that the iPhone 5's rear camera doesn't have a flash module attached like the one found on the iPhone 4, suggesting that Apple may indeed be planning to completely separate the camera and flash on the next iPhone model.
This is the first news we've heard of a possible camera redesign on the next-gen iPhone, but a change would make sense because some iPhone 4 owners have had problems with the device's flash interfering with its ability to take photos. So, adding up all of the rumored iPhone 5 features we've heard up to now, the device could pack a dual-core processor, upgraded camera, redesigned flash, global capabilities, and perhaps a larger display, as well.
