There's still no word on exactly when we can expect the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, aka the PlayStation Phone, to arrive on Verizon's shelves outside of a vague "early spring" window, but we are one step closer to its arrival. The CDMA-powered Xperia PLAY was recently spotted getting its certification on FCC, and an interesting feature was revealed in the process: the Play is packing a SIM card slot.
The fact that the Xperia PLAY sports a SIM card slot likely means that the device either features GSM/CDMA global capabilities or the ability to run on Verizon's LTE network. If I were a betting man, I'd guess that the former is the much more likely of the two. If the Xperia PLAY did feature LTE powers, one would think that we would've heard about it by now, either from Big Red, Sony Ericsson, or some other source. Anything's possible, though, so be sure to stay tuned and we'll let you know when we learn more on the situation.
