WiFi-only Motorola XOOM coming March 27th for $599

This news shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone following Motorola XOOM news lately, but today Moto dropped some official knowledge on when we can expect the WiFi-only flavor of its tablet to arrive. Motorola's WiFi-only XOOM will be launching on Sunday, March 27th, for $599. There'll be a plethora of purchase options for anyone interested in picking up the cellular radio-less XOOM, as it'll be available from Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, select Sam's Club locations, and Walmart. You can read Moto's full press release below.

It's kind of strange that it's taken Motorola this long to announce availability details on the WiFi-only XOOM, but I'm sure that there are more than a few folks excited that the device will finally be dropping in a little over a week. Sure, the 3G-enabled XOOM is available at Verizon for the same price on-contract, but if you opt for the WiFi-only model, you won't have to commit two years of your life to one device. And with just about every smartphone supporting some sort of mobile hotspot functionality, you shouldn't have much trouble getting the WiFi-only model online when you're out and about.
