The Motorola XOOM may have just come to market last week, but that doesn't mean that Moto isn't looking ahead to future products of the tablet variety. Speaking at Morgan Stanley's Technology, Media and Telecom Conference, CEO Sanjay Jha promised that Motorola would be releasing more tablets before 2011 is up. He didn't provide any details, but the CEO did mention the 7-inch screen size more than once, at one point calling the form factor "fun" and "portable." Jha also touched on tablet pricing, explaining that he thinks that pricing on tablets to drop later on in the year. Finally, the Moto exec talked XOOM, saying that "sales have started relatively well."
It wasn't all "tablet, tablet, tablet" for Motorola's CEO, as he talked a bit about the webtop feature found on the Atrix 4G, as well. Sanjay Jha explained that we can expect all of Moto's high-end smartphones to sport webtop capabilities, beginning in the second half of 2011.
Tablets are going to be huge in 2011, so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that Motorola plans on pumping out several more slates as the year goes on. As production becomes more streamlined and component prices fall, we should see the final products become a little cheaper, too, which should warm the hearts of folks that think that $800 may be a little much for a XOOM.
