Rumor: HTC working on an Android phone with dedicated Facebook button

We've heard rumors that HTC has been working on an Android-powered Facebook phones, although those claims, like most others, were promptly shot down. Today new speculation has emerged, although it differs slightly than what we've heard in the past. According to "people familiar with the device," the Taiwanese manufacturer is hard at work on a Android handset with a dedicated Facebook button to help feed your social networking need. The button will reportedly take users directly to Facebook's home page. There's not much else known about the device right now, but the sources say that it'll be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month (which we'll be covering live).

I'm sure that there are a lot of Facebook's over 500 million users that would flock to purchase a device with one-touch access to the social networking site, but it still doesn't seem like a great idea to me. You can get pretty quick access to the 'Book on any regular Android phone, especially with a widget. Why bother creating a phone that features a specialized Facebook button and risk alienating potential customers that don't use the site? Then again, I'm not a heavy user of the site, so maybe I'm not the target market for such a phone. Would any of you purchase an HTC Android with a dedicated Facebook button?
