Sidekick 4G breaks cover, will be manufactured by Samsung

The news that T-Mobile would be reviving the Sidekick brand with a new device excited just about everyone around the industry, and the fact that it'll be 4G-capable is just icing on the cake. Thanks to some newly-leaked images, though, that delicious Sidekick cake may become a little less desirable for some of us. As you can see above and below, images of the Sidekick 4G have leaked out to the world and Samsung's name is plastered smack dab on the back of the device. Little is known about the Sidekick 4G's specs besides the fact that it's currently running Android 2.2.1, although there does appear to be a front-facing camera next to the display.

Considering that, before this leak, we'd only seen one small render of the upcoming Sidekick, this news has gotten a lot of people pretty excited for the newest Hiptop. The fact that Samsung is manufacturing the device could temper some of that excitement, though, due to Sammy's lack of communication with the Galaxy S Froyo updates. That said, I'll give Samsung the benefit of the doubt and wait until the Sidekick comes out and gets its first update before making any judgments. So now that we've seen the Sidekick 4G in the flesh, are you excited? Or has the news that Samsung is making the device turned you off?
