HP has promised that they have some exciting things in store for their February 9th event, but if their products continue to leak like this, they won't have anything left to show. The folks at PreCentral have gotten their mitts on a gaggle of information about HP's Topaz tablet, including some possible specs. So just what features will the webOS tablet sport when it hits? If this leak is to be believe, you can expect a 9.7-inch 1024x768 display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8660 processor, Adreno 220 GPU, 512MB RAM, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, Flash support, and 16, 32, or 64GB of storage. We can reportedly expect HSPA, LTE, and WiFi-only models, along with a CDMA variant coming later on.
There's also some new information about the second iteration of the Touchstone charger in the leak. Called "Touchstone v2," HP is allegedly planning to bring wireless content sharing, audio and video streaming, printing, and game playing all with the new Touchstone. Of course, the Topaz tablet will be compatible with all of these features.
Finally, the leak claims that HP is planning to make several cloud-based services available to webOS users, including using Snapfish for photo sharing and Melodeo for music. There's also mention of HP Cloud Drive and Cloud Canvas. Little is known about Cloud Canvas, but the speculation is that it'll allow for easy document sharing between devices.
HP's Topaz tablet is shaping up to be a formidable entry into the market, and I'm really excited to see it unveiled. That's partially because of the specs and features that we've seen leak so far, but I'm also looking forward to the device simply because it's been so long since we've seen any sort of new webOS-powered hardware. UPDATE: And the Topaz leaks continue. This time, PreCentral has gotten its hands on images of the webOS tablet UI. According to the leak, there's going to be plenty of new tablet-specific UI features, including new gestures, a virtual keyboard (obviously), tabs, pages, and much more.
