Sony Ericsson files suit against Clearwire for alleged trademark infringement

Clearwire's fallen on some hard times lately, and now things have gotten just a little worse thanks to Sony Ericsson. SE has filed a lawsuit against Clearwire for trademark infringement, claiming that Clearwire is trying to gain an "unfair competitive advantage" in the market by using a logo similar to the one that SE's. Sony Ericsson, which has registered the "sphere with swirl marks" logo in several different variations, is asking that Clearwire be forced to stop using the logo and pay for monetary damages, as well.

As with most lawsuits, it's tough to predict whether the courts will side with Sony Ericsson or Clearwire in this case. You and I may be able to tell the two logos apart without any trouble, but others, especially those that don't obsess over cell phones, may think the two logos are simply a slight variation on the same image. What do you all think? Does Sony Ericsson have a case?
